MARKET INSPECTORATE CLOSES 26 MASSAGE SALONS AND NIGHT CLUBS

Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET), through the Market Inspectorate, from 10-14 May 2023 has inspected 66 economic operators that exercise activity of body care/massage salons, night clubs/live music and dance, operating in the Municipalities of Prishtina, Fushë-Kosova, Gjakova, Malisheva and Rahovec.

Out of which 26 economic operators have been temporarily closed because they have exercised their activity in violation with provisions of the Law on Internal Trade, punitive fines have been imposed to 12 economic operators, on the detected violations of the Law on Consumer Protection, as well based to the Criminal Code of Kosovo, criminal charges have been filed against 4 economic operators for removing or damaging an official seal.

Inspections were carried out in cooperation with Kosovo Police/Directorate for Investigation of Trafficking with Human Beings (DITHB), and inspectors of Tax Administration  of Kosovo (TAK).

Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, together with the Market Inspectorate, remains committed to the supervision of implementation of applicable laws in the Republic of Kosovo, and towards achieving this goal, activities and inspections will continue in the following days and months.
