Action of the Anti-Piracy Task Force - about 3000 textbooks seized

The Anti- Counterfeiting and Piracy Task Force, today on 04 September 2024, in inter-institutional cooperation consisting of the MCYS Copyright Office, the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate and the Kosovo Police - Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, inspected entities involved in the production, sale and distribution of materials that are protected by copyright.
The Task Force, supported by the Market Inspectorate and the Kosovo Police, conducted inspections and supervised implementation of the Copyright Law in several cities across Kosovo, as well seized pirated material.
These actions against piracy have resulted in the seizure of about 3000 educational-scientific and professional books.
Law enforcement institutions will take punitive measures in accordance with the legislation in force against businesses where pirated material has been found, without permission and without agreement with the copyright holders.
The Anti-Counterfeiting and Piracy Task Force notifies copyright holders and entities that produce, distribute and sell copyrighted materials that it is in action and will undertake ongoing market actions by putting in place the system of intellectual creativity protection and the fight against piracy as a daily mission of state institutions.
The Anti-Piracy Task Force asks from all persons who claim that their rights are being violated to contact the competent authorities, the Market Inspectorate and the Kosovo Police.
