About 15,000 unsafe decorative accessories banned from the market

Prishtinë, 30/11/2024

In the last two weeks, the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, has carried out verifications of decorative lighting used for the end-of-year holidays.

During the customs clearance process at customs points, as well as in the domestic market, around 15,000 pieces of decorative accessories were banned from entering the market or removed from circulation. These products were found to be non-compliant with legal requirements and relevant safety standards.

Decorative electric lights that do not meet relevant standards may pose a serious hazard of electric shock or fire, endangering the lives and property of citizens.

The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance remains committed to ensuring consumer safety and protecting them from dangerous products.
