The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ms Rozeta Hajdari, together with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Xhelal Sveçla, participated in the inauguration ceremony for the first time of the laboratory for examining computers and videos at the Kosovo Forensics Agency and the re-accreditation of 6 other laboratories of this agency.
Accreditation, or conformity assessment, is a key pillar of the modern economy. Accreditation not only ensures that products and services offered are of high quality, but also guarantees consumer safety and supports law enforcement. In this way, accreditation plays a direct role in fighting crime and achieving justice for a safer society.
The Acting Director General of the Kosovo Accreditation Directorate (KAD) Mr. Irfan Lipovica handed over to the Acting Director General of the Kosovo Forensics Agency (KFA), Mr. Ilir Kukaj, the accreditation certificate for 7 laboratories with 47 scientific working methods.
With the most advanced technology equipment and a trained team of experts, KFA laboratories will serve to investigate and uncover the truth of criminal cases, providing reliable and incontestable evidence for the justice system.
The Kosovo Accreditation Directorate (KAD) within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade has marked progress in accrediting a total of 67 conformity assessment bodies (CABs), of which 18 are inspection bodies and 49 are testing laboratories.
"This is an indicator of the strong capacities we have built, but our work does not stop here. During this year, we have established the accreditation scheme for product certification and have launched an open call for applications for this accreditation. In the first half of 2025, we will also establish and launch the accreditation scheme for the certification of professionals in various fields. This is an achievement for the implementation of standards and the improvement of quality, giving professionals the opportunity to be accredited for further development in their profession", emphasized Minister Hajdari.
Minister Hajdari thanked the KAD and KFA teams for their close cooperation and all those who contributed to the process of accreditation of KFA laboratories by KAD. She said that in addition to contributing to our justice system, KFA laboratories have a key role in building citizens' trust in our institutions. Minister Rozeta Hajdari emphasized the important role of professional institutions in strengthening security and justice in the country, underlining that “Through honest evidence and professional analysis, we will continue to fight crime and protect our citizens, strengthening public trust in our institutions and building a safer society for all”.
