MINT is funding the construction of the Business Incubator in Peja in the amount of €3.2 million

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ms. Rozeta Hajdari, with the aim of developing the innovation ecosystem and fostering cooperation between industry and academia, to accelerate the growth of startups and emerging technologies, through expanding spaces for young entrepreneurs and innovators in the city of Peja and beyond, on 30 July 2024, issued a decision to establish the Business Incubator within “Haxhi Zeka” University (HZU), in an area of approximately 6.6 hectares in the Municipality of Peja.

Today, together with the Mayor of the Municipality of Peja, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri, we signed a Cooperation Agreement for the implementation of the project “Construction of the Business Incubator in Peja” with capital investments of €3.2 million for the years 2025–2027, provided by the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET) through the KIESA Agency.

This Business Incubator will be certified as an Innovation and Technology Park in accordance with the Law on Industrial and Technological Parks and following the enactment of the Law on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Minister Hajdari stated that the Innovation and Technology Park at “Haxhi Zeka” University will be a key center in the Dukagjin region for the development of the innovation ecosystem and skills aligned with market demands, through the creation of collaborative links between higher education institutions (HEIs) and vocational education and training (VET) institutions, as well as activities related to advanced technology and prototype development for the industry.

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade remains committed, in close cooperation with municipalities and other stakeholders, to create the most favourable conditions for economic development, promoting innovation and establishing a sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem in all municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
