The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance closes 12 massage centers and nightclubs

The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, operating within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, specifically the Directorate for the Investigation of Human Trafficking, with inspectors from the Kosovo Tax Administration, as well as with inspectors from the Central Labor Inspectorate, have carried out a wide inspection campaign among economic operators who carry out commercial activities - body maintenance activities (massage centers) and other entertainment and recreation activities (night music).

The joint action resulted in the inspection of 123 economic entities, namely 73 economic operators who carry out commercial activities - body maintenance activities (massage centers) and 50 economic operators who carry out commercial activities - other entertainment and recreation activities (night music).

Inspectors of the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, in accordance with their legal competences, have temporarily closed 12 economic operators throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, due to non-registration of businesses, as well as the lack of consent/decision to meet the minimum technical conditions.

Against economic operators who were carrying out their activity in violation of the law, 14 punitive measures have been imposed in accordance with the legislation in force.

The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, in accordance with its competences and legal mandate, will continue inspections in the coming days and if violations are found, measures will be taken to prohibit the exercise of the activity, as well as other punitive measures in accordance with the current legislation in force.
