Today, the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Ms. Rozeta Hajdari, signed the decision to impose protective measures on petroleum products used in transportation, with the aim of protecting consumers and ensuring fair competition in the local market.
This decision is the result of continuous monitoring of the oil market, through daily records of Kosovo Customs and reports by the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, which have evidenced that changes in import supply prices are frequently reflected in immediate increases in retail prices, whereas proportional reductions do not occur when supply prices decrease.
This decision sets the maximum permitted trade margin as follows:
Wholesale: up to 2 eurocents per liter;
Retail: up to 12 eurocents per liter.
Through today's decision, which enters into force one day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Kosovo, increased inspection supervision is foreseen by the Market Inspectorate in cooperation with Customs and Tax Administration.
The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, through its work and courageous actions, remains committed to protecting consumers and promoting fair competition in the market of the Republic of Kosovo.
