The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance closes 26 motels and vilas

The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, operating within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, has organized and carried out a wide inspection action in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Tax Administration and the Central Labor Inspectorate, with the aim of ensuring compliance with legal standards, protecting consumers, guaranteeing fair competition in the market, as well as verifying the fulfillment of legal obligations by economic entities.
During this action, a total of 69 economic entities were inspected, where the main focus was the broader supervision of economic entities that carry out their activities related to the field of hospitality and tourism, respectively, the object of joint inspections were mainly economic entities that carry out villa and motel activities.
Inspectors of the Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance, in accordance with legal competences, have temporarily closed 26 economic entities throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, due to the failure to register businesses, as well as the lack of consent/decision to meet the minimum technical conditions.
Against economic operators that carry out their activities in violation of the legislation in force, market inspectors have imposed 27 punitive measures.
The Central Inspectorate of Market Surveillance and other participating institutions will continue with similar activities in the future, in line with strengthening the enforcement of the law and creating a safe and orderly environment for the development of economic activities in the Republic of Kosovo.
