Prishtinë, 04/03/2026

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, signed today the decision on setting the prices of petroleum products, following the immediate increase in fuel prices in the domestic market as a result of recent developments in the Middle East.

According to the Minister, the intervention was necessary to protect consumers and ensure fair and honest competition in the market of the Republic of Kosovo.

“The decision follows continuous monitoring of the oil market, analysis of daily data from the Kosovo Customs, and reports from the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, which showed that price increases from imports were immediately reflected in retail prices”, Minister Kusari-Lila stated.

This decision sets the maximum allowed trade margin for economic operators. For wholesale sales, the maximum margin will be up to 2 Euro cents per liter, and for retail sales, up to 12 Euro cents per liter.

The Minister stated that inspectors will be in the field to oversee the implementation of the decision and ensure compliance with the established margins. Any violation or non-compliance shall be dealt with in accordance with the applicable legislation.

Minister Kusari-Lila explained that the calculation of the maximum allowed trade margin for wholesale and retail sales has been made in accordance with Article 4, paragraphs 1.1 and 1.2 of Administrative Instruction No. 03/2022 on Price Regulation of Petroleum Products and Renewable Fuels and Other Protective Measures.

This measure aims to maintain market stability, prevent price abuses, and ensure effective consumer protection.
