Prishtinë, 05/03/2026

The Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, during her visit to Canada, held a meeting in Toronto with the two vice presidents of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, an organization that represents over 60 local member chambers throughout the province of Ontario and approximately 60,000 businesses through its network.

In this meeting with Vice Presidents Loui Di Palma and Julie Martini, as well as Program Manager Jason Chang, the development of the mining sector, the defense industry, the development and potential of information technology, as well as opportunities for outsourcing and concrete partnerships between businesses were discussed. Ontario is the economic heart of Canada, generating about 38–40 percent of the national GDP, with an economy exceeding 1 trillion Canadian dollars and over 16 million inhabitants. The province is a leader in industrial production, mining, technology, finance and advanced defense industries, offering a strong ecosystem for investment and international cooperation.

In a world of major changes and strong competition between countries for capital and investment, Kosovo aims to create its position based on the skills and creativity of young people and the potential of natural resources.

Minister Kusari-Lila announced that the Agreement on the Protection of Foreign Investments has already been signed between Kosovo and Canada, while the Agreement on the Elimination of Double Taxation is also in process, concrete steps that make economic cooperation safer and more attractive for investors.
