Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate in action across Kosovo regarding fuel prices

Prishtinë, 06/03/2026

The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate, operating within the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, today carried out a broad inspection action in cooperation with inspectors from the Tax Administration of Kosovo and the Kosovo Competition Authority.

The purpose of this action was to oversee the implementation of the decision on the temporary regulation of petroleum product prices and the establishment of other protective measures. These actions aim to protect consumers, increase market transparency, ensure fair competition, and prevent potential market disruptions.

The action was conducted based on the decision dated 04.03.2026 by the Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, and focused on more than twenty-five economic operators across the territory of Kosovo, including traders of petroleum products for transport use.

The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate acted in close coordination with Kosovo Customs, the Tax Administration, and the Competition Authority, ensuring that every action was coordinated and effective.

We assure the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo that the Inspectorate will continue its continuous monitoring of the market to protect their health and safety, combat informality, and eliminate unfair trade practices. In every case where a violation of legal requirements is found, inspectors will take punitive measures in accordance with the legislation in force.

The Inspectorate and the participating institutions plan to continue with similar activities in the future, to strengthen the rule of law and to create a safe and orderly environment for the development of economic activities in the Republic of Kosovo.
